Doncaster’s new £22m performance venue will be called ‘Cast’ – a name chosen because of the word’s theatrical associations as well as providing a link to Doncaster’s industrial past. The venue is due to open in 2013 and will feature a 620-seat theatre, a second flexible performance space for 200 seated or 400 standing, dance and drama studios, rooms for learning, rehearsing and meeting as well as a café bar.
