Turbine at Glyndebourne

Glyndebourne has revealed that 89% of its energy is being provided by the 67-metre-tall wind turbine it installed in January 2012. The figure is in line with its target of 90%, with the slight disparity put down to slower than average wind speeds. Glyndebourne is the first UK arts organisation to generate its own power using a large scale wind turbine, as part of its long term plan to reduce energy costs and become a carbon neutral organisation. The turbine is expected to help reduce carbon emissions by 50%.
