Digital infrastructure, intellectual property rights and continuing investment are among the terms of reference for a group appointed by Shadow Culture Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to review the creative industries in the UK. Chaired by former BBC Director General, Greg Dyke, the group includes leaders from the television, film, radio, music, video and gaming industries, and the mobile phone industry. The questions focus on digital content and infrastructure, the sustainability of local media and the availability of well-trained recruits from within the UK. The review group will make its report this autumn. Although the group includes no representatives from the performing or visual arts, a Conservative Arts and Creative Industries Network will be launched later this month.
