A large metalic silver and blue broken egg

A partnership between the National Trust and Arts Council England is set to extend the impact of contemporary arts and crafts at historic houses, countryside and garden properties across England. Trust New Art, a new three-year programme of events, projects and products is being developed to build new audiences by making contemporary arts and crafts an integral part of the National Trust’s visitor experience, and to provide commission opportunities for both emerging and established artists. The programme also includes professional development for National Trust staff. The formal partnership runs to 2012 and will focus on activity in England, but in the longer term will extend to include Wales and Northern Ireland. A panel of leading figures in the contemporary arts world will be advising on how the partnership can best develop.
