Women dominate Olivier’s Best Director nominations

For the first time in the Olivier Awards' 38-year history more women than men have been nominated for Best Director; Maria Friedman, Susan Stroman, Lyndsey Turner and Richard Eyre are in the running. It’s also a good year for Shakespeare, the Almeida Theatre and musicals.
