UK to ratify Hague Convention protecting cultural property

Culture Seretary John Whittingdale said that 1954’s ‘Hague Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict’ would be ratified “at the first opportunity” to prevent “further cultural destruction” in sites occupied by Islamic State.
