A report has revealed the Night-time economy (NTE) was worth £66bn across the UK in 2009. The NTE covers a wide range of activities in town and city centres, including theatres, museums and events which combine to create a centre offer 'after dark.' The report also highlights the importance of good management to maximise the benefits to the economy. It was presented as part of Purple Flag week, which is run by the new Purple Flag accreditation scheme for town and city centres.
