Royal Opera House criticised for ‘alienating’ ticket policy
The London venue has sold the vast majority of seats for a hotly-anticipated performance of Fidelio starring Jonas Kaufmann to its members, meaning only hundreds out of more than 13,000 tickets are available to the general public. Opera Magazine Editor John Allison said the decision “raises all the old questions of accessibility of opera houses and their tier schemes”.
