The major redevelopment will see Burlington House and the 6 Burlington Gardens building linked by a new bridge and corridor, as well as the addition of a lecture theatre, Clore learning centre, and exhibition galleries. The project, which will be completed in early 2018, is supported by a £12.7m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, as well as private philanthropy, and trusts and foundations.
