Potential Tate charity and Tate Gallery merger “deeply troubling”

In a letter to the Times, artist Michael Paraskos criticised the proposed merger between the two Tate bodies as “undemocratic and unethical”. In response, the Tate said the move would “integrate the Members more closely to the gallery” and allow it to be more flexible and responsive.
