One million visitors for the Turner Contemporary

Margate’s gallery, built as part of Kent’s regeneration scheme for the seaside town, has surpassed all expectations in visitor numbers. The £17m gallery opened in April 2011 and forecasts suggested only 300k visitors would visit in the first two years.
