No future for Futurist theatre

Scarborough's seafront theatre will be closed until a new operator is found for the site after the Council rejected plans to increase its subsidy to the site’s operator. The venue will be boarded up for up for three months, at a cost of £5k, “to provide time to flush out any potential operators”. Campaigners say it is “unrealistic” to expect a potential operator to come forward.
