The Crafts Council has launched ‘Hothouse’, a new programme of business skills and creative development for emerging makers. It is open to those based in England up to two years into their careers, as part of Crafts Council Collective, the professional development programme for makers. The closing date for applications is 15 April, and application forms can be downloaded from the Crafts Council’s website.

In their first ever collaboration, Sadler’s Wells and the Barbican Centre have teamed up with production company Cultural Industry to commission a month-long season of ten works, seven of which are UK premieres, to be performed by the choreography company of the late Pina Bausch, Tanztheater Wuppertal. As part of the Cultural Olympiad, this will be the first ever continuous season of Bausch’s ‘World Cities’ creation, a project started 25 years ago which explores the theme of global location.

VSA, the International Organization on Arts and Disability, is mapping organisations that focus on arts education and/or disability in order to form a more comprehensive picture of organisations and initiatives based outside the USA and/or with international scope. Professor James Catterall of UCLA and Professor Anne Bamford of the University of the Arts, London, are asking organisations to take a survey which is gathering information to inform future decision making and policy for arts education for children with disabilities.
