More data needed on foundation giving to the arts

Recent figures reveal foundations gave grants of £174m to arts and culture in 2011/12, up 16% on the previous year. The CEO of the soon-to-close Northern Rock Foundation said: “It is good news for the cultural sector but what does it mean? Is it good news for all cultural sector organisations or just some?”
