Leicester’s defunct Haymarket Theatre to be restored
The 800-seat theatre, which closed in 2007, is to be returned to use as a performance and music venue by Leicester City Council. The decision follows failed attempts to market the theatre for other purposes – such as a training centre for young people – and to sell the lease, which costs the local authority an annual £180k.
