Lead tenor late for starring role

Canadian opera singer Lance Ryan failed to turn up for the first act of Siegfried at the Berlin Staatsoper. An assistant director played his role on stage, while tenor Andreas Schager, who was due to sing The Magic Flute in the same building later that evening, sang the role from the wings.
