A cultural recovery plan for Brighton and Hove has been created by local cultural organisations and industry professionals.

Launched in response to the social and economic impact of Covid-19, the ABCD for Cultural Recovery plan aims to support the city’s economy through creativity.

Among its priorities are ensuring skilled workers and jobs are retained and that creative entrepreneurship is provided with training and support.

It will also focus on reviving tourism through culture and the role of the arts in health and well-being.

The ABCD Governing Body includes individuals from the Brighton & Hove Arts & Creative Industries Commission, Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival, Brighton and Hove City Council, Event Professionals Independent Committee (EPIC), and What Next? Brighton.

A statement from the governing body said: “One of the positive outcomes of the pandemic has been the collaboration across the city’s creative sector and the willingness to work collectively to protect the city’s thriving cultural scene."

"We now need to move to the next phase, to recruit a team and working group members who can attract investment and expertise in order to achieve the plan’s objectives.”
