Council approves York’s Shakespeare theatre

The temporary theatre will be built on part of the car park next to York’s Clifford’s tower next summer after the City of York Council granted planning permission for the scheme. The decision comes despite opposition from the Ministry of Justice, which said the build would interfere with the running of the nearby Crown Court.
