Cost of best West End seats rise, while cheap seats become cheaper

The average top ticket price for shows in commercial West End theatres has risen to £89.72 this year, including fees, compared with £87.49 in 2013, reversing the trend of the subsidised sector where the average top price has fallen to £55.52. Lowest-priced tickets have become cheaper in both sectors. Extra fees charged on tickets have also dropped significantly, from £1.12 in 2013 to just 32p, as theatres follow new regulation to disclose fees from the start.
