Dr Shupin Wang says Chinese officials have told her friends and family they should persuade her to cancel a show based on her life due to open at London's Hampstead Theatre this week. Wang, who exposed the spread of hepatitis and HIV through contaminated blood in China in the 1990s, said she believes "their reason is that this play will embarrass and damage the Chinese government and the reputations of specific officials".
