China invests £190m in musical theatre

A one-million square foot centre with a theatre and production facilities is to be built outside Beijing. Financed by the government and a Chinese cultural development company, the move follows the success of a Mandarin-language production of Mamma Mia!, brought to China from the UK in 2011.
