Campaigners still hope to save Whitehaven Civic Hall

Copeland Borough Council says it can no longer afford to subsidise the community and entertainment venue due to £2.6m budget cuts. Copeland Amateur Theatrical Society has until the end of April to submit a business plan to take over the venue.
