Wales is set to have its own National Theatre of the English Language, after plans were confirmed by the Welsh Heritage Minister, Rhodri Glyn Thomas.
The new organisation will follow the model of the successful National Theatre of Scotland, in having no fixed venue, and working with actors and production teams in commissioning and staging new plays. The Minister said that the first steps towards the new company had already been taken, with the search for a board Chairman currently under way.
