New bursary for Scottish producers

A new bursary for established theatre producers has been launched by the Federation of Scottish Theatre (FST) in partnership with the Scottish Arts Council. Following on from its Assistant Director Bursary programme, the new scheme, entitled ‘Loosening the Purse Strings’, will enable successful applicants to be supported, taught and mentored by a host producer during a placement designed to further creative development. Producers will be supported to develop their creative expertise and explore different producing models. Jon Morgan, Interim Director of FST, said, “this initiative will offer Scottish producers the space to research and develop ideas by working with their contemporaries in different contexts and applying different methodologies.”
