Information on access, legislation and terminology concerning disability has been made available through a new website developed jointly by Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic’s Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. The website has been hailed as “an essential tool for parents, families, advice workers, arts bodies and the wider community”. Emma Lincoln, National Arts Development Officer with the Royal National Institute for the Blind, said that she was “delighted with the quality of the information”, and added that “the site encourages good practice amongst arts organisations and gives disabled people information so that they can get involved in arts activity”. Meanwhile, Disability Cultural Projects (formerly the National Disability Arts Forum) has launched its online presence at www.disabilityarts.info. The site offers a newsletter archive, a guide to accessible events, and information on other organisations.
