'Between the Devil And The Deep Blue Sea’ by the theatre company 1927

Less than two years ago, Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) was under threat of closure due to funding cuts being made by Wandsworth Council, its landlord at the Old Town Hall (see AP138). Now celebrating a Third Sector Excellence Award for a Public Sector Partnership, BAC and the Council have forged a landmark relationship to work with the voluntary and community sectors to develop the cultural vibrancy, educational provision and local economy of the borough. BAC is now working with theatre architects Haworth Tompkins to develop a 21st century performance centre within its 19th century listed home. BAC hopes to continue its run of good fortune with its Christmas show, ‘Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea’ (pictured) by the theatre company 1927.
