VocalEyes

CLAIRE SADDLETON has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of VocalEyes, the charity bringing art and culture to life for blind and visually impaired people. She will take up the post in May.

For the last decade Saddleton has been a Senior Relationship Manager at Arts Council England in the London Theatre team.

Before joining ACE in 2010, Saddleton was the project lead for See-A-Voice, a joint initiative between VocalEyes and Stagetext, supporting the delivery of local audio description and captioning services across England. 

She also spent six years with Graeae Theatre Company as their first Access Manager.

Saddleton said it was an honour to be joining a the company “which plays a vital role in the development and delivery of audio description, enabling access for blind and visually impaired people to enjoy a full range of cultural experiences.”

She continued: "The company’s mission is extremely close to my heart and I’m so excited to be able to play a part in its ongoing journey and new ventures.”

REBECCA DI CORPO, Acting Chair of VocalEyes, added: “The board sought a dynamic and driven CEO with a passion for access and inclusion in the arts and heritage. We are therefore delighted to have appointed Claire to lead VocalEyes through this next critical phase in delivering the charity’s mission.”
