JENNY PORTER is Metal Liverpool’s new Director.

A member of the team since 2007, Porter is currently the cultural hub’s Senior Project Manager.

Curator of the Liverpool Art Prize from 2010 to 2014, Porter said he is "excited to continue to build on Metal’s commitment to the culture and creativity of our local neighbourhood".

Porter replaces SHAUN CURTIS, who is stepping down after eight years to become Tate Liverpool's Senior Curator of Learning.

Curtis led several projects including the Different Trains concert and became Founder and Chair of Shift Liverpool, a sustainability network for art organisations in the Liverpool City region.

He says it has been a genuinely fulfilling experience to work with Metal: “I will really miss the amazing colleagues, communities and artists I have had the pleasure of working with."
