ALEKSANDAR MARKOVIC

ALEKSANDAR MARKOVIC, appointed Music Director at Opera North last year, has resigned and will leave at the end of his first year in July 2017. His place as conductor for the organisation’s upcoming show, Turandot, has been taken by RICHARD ARMSTRONG, former Music Director at Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera.

A spokesperson for Opera North said: “Mr Markovic is currently on extended leave and it has been mutually agreed that he will not return to the Company for the remainder of the season.”
