EMILY GRAY will become British Youth Music Theatre’s (BYMT) next Chief Executive and Creative Director in May.

Gray will take over from Founder JON BROMWICH, who is stepping down after 18 years.

A former Chief Executive and Artistic Director of Trestle Theatre Company, Gray is currently Executive Director of Mercury Musical Developments.

As a freelancer, she has directed a number of productions, including Virtual Reality at Southwark Playhouse for the National Youth Theatre. She also works as an arts consultant in schools.

Gray says her new role will bring together her experience working with young people with her passion for producing new music theatre.

“I look forward to working with young people and creatives wanting to dive into dynamic collaborations and transform the future of music theatre, with young voices at its heart.”
