FEDERICO BONELLI has been appointed as Northern Ballet’s next Artistic Director, commencing May 1.
He will succeed DAVID NIXON, who stands down after 21 years.
A former Zürich Ballet soloist and principal of the Dutch National Ballet, Bonelli became principal of The Royal Ballet London in 2003 and has been with the company for 19 years.
He graduated from the Clore Leadership Programme in 2019 and curated the The Royal Ballet's programme at Doncaster Creatives Festival 2020.
He is a non-executive Director and member of the Board of Parents and Carers in Performing Arts and co-facilitates the Royal Ballet’s inclusivity focus group.
