Government considers withdrawing UK from European Capital of Culture

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has opposed suggestions that the UK should not host the competition in 2023, telling Culture Secretary Karen Bradley this would undermine the UK’s promise to remain “global facing”, the Telegraph has learned.
