ADAM POWNALL will become Executive Producer of Zest Theatre in July.

With a background in theatre producing, he will join the Lincolnshire-based theatre from his current position as Senior Producer of Hull Truck Theatre. He has formerly worked as Producer and Programmer for Derby Theatre.

Pownall’s appointment follows the theatre’s successful application to Arts Council England’s national portfolio for 2023-26.

“Having previously been a proud trustee for the company for eight years I’m hoping by joining the staff team I can help nurture and further develop the creation of brilliant, important work that amplifies the voices of young people,” Pownall said.

“What sets Zest apart is their commitment to making work in the communities they serve.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with [Artistic Director and CEO] TOBY EALDEN, the team and our exciting creatives to contribute to new work that has a distinct impact and enriches our participants, performers and audiences.”

The theatre has also welcomed four new trustees, including RACHEL BAYNTON, Associate Professor and Creative Engagement Producer for the School of Creative Arts, University of Lincoln, and co-founder and Director of Petaurum HR ADAM DAVEY.

They are joined by Artistic Director of Spark Arts CHRISTOPHER GORRY and EMMA LUGRIN, Quality Improvement Specialist for NHS England and University of Lincoln.
