The Secretary of State has named NIGEL WILKINSON MBE as an Advisory Board Member at VisitEngland, the official tourist board for England.
The five-year post commenced on 11 August.
Wilkinson was previously Managing Director of Windermere Lake Cruises Limited, a visitor attraction in the Lake District and of Winander Leisure Limited, a Yorkshire based property company.
Following his appointment to the Tourism Industry Council in 2020, Wilkinson collaborated with the Government to ensure improvements were made to the tourism industry in jobs, transport and deregulation.
In 2021, Wilkinson was appointed as a Trustee and Director of South Cumbria Rivers, a trust that aims to monitor, preserve, protect and rehabilitate the biodiversity of lakes, rivers and streams.
