Baroness STEPHANIE FRASER has been appointed the Scotland Member of the British Library by the Secretary of State for a term of 4 years, commencing 19 September 2022. 

Fraser is the Chief Executive of Cerebral Palsy Scotland. She sits on the board of Creative Scotland, the development body for the arts and creative industries in Scotland.

She also chairs the Scottish Government’s National Advisory Committee for Neurological Conditions and is a Trustee of the Neurological Alliance of Scotland. 

Fraser trained as a professional ballet dancer and read History at Trinity College, Cambridge. 

She began her career as an Account Director at the advertising agency J Walter Thompson. Fraser re-trained as a Benesh choreologist and worked as Company Choreologist for English National Ballet prior to becoming Director of Development. She became Head of Development at Scottish Ballet after moving back home to Glasgow. 

She was appointed to the House of Lords in December 2020 and sits as a Conservative Life Peer.
