Chichester Festival Theatre recruits ahead of National Youth Advisory Board conference
Chichester Festival Theatre (CFT) has appointed two new trustees to co-chair its Youth Advisory Board in the run up to hosting the National Youth Advisory Board (NYAB) conference on 6 February.
Theatre director JORDI M. CARTER has worked as associate director on the UK premiere of Marie and Rosetta at CFT and the Rose Theatre, and as young associate at the Young Vic.
Carter has also held roles as co-artistic director and chief executive at theatre company Boundless Theatre and served as the 2024/25 Lambeth Baylis trustee at the Old Vic.
Joining Carter as co-chair, freelance media creative DANNY HUMBY specialises in marketing, digital production and governance.
Humby has worked on audience development with organisations including OperaUpClose, the Point Theatre and audio production company WiseBuddah, and served as chair of the Studio Radio Association.
The NYAB conference, established to generate positive change across the theatre sector through advocating for a more inclusive industry and promoting the representation of young people and under-represented groups, will be hosted at CFT’s newest performance and participation space, the Nest.
It will be attended by youth advisory board members from theatres across the UK, including the Almeida Theatre, Leicester Curve and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Creative associate at CFT SOPHIE HOBSON, who leads on the youth advisory board and NYAB, said she was “hugely excited” to welcome Carter and Humby to the board.
She said: “They embody our values and bring distinct perspectives that will both champion and challenge CFT, ensuring young people’s voices are heard at a strategic level.
“At CFT we recognise the power and importance of youth leadership and believe young people drive meaningful change by embracing debate, elevating their peers and inspiring bold thinking for a more diverse future.”
