Your leading article on 21 May (AP Issue 146, p1), yet again brings into question the murky influence of Arts Council England (ACE) in their policy of regime change. We recently lost our local theatre, when it was a stipulation of ACE funding that there were directional changes, despite the fact that a local team kept the lights on for years without adequate funding. I also know that managers have been changed to re-fresh other venues all around the country.

I work for a government department and have first hand knowledge of what is going on at ACE, but you must make an issue of these unseemly changes.
