South Asian dance company Akademi has chosen a new Chair: KEITH KHAN.

Khan's career in creativity began in the 1980s when he worked on Notting Hill Carnival.

He later founded intercultural arts charity Moti Roti, leaving in 2004 to become CEO of Rich Mix Cultural Foundation.

In 2012, he was Head of Culture for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Outgoing Chair PAUL PARASHAR said Khan has crucial experience as an artist, creative director and leader.

"It is this combination that will allow him to articulate the mission and purpose of Akademi, whilst leading our ambitious strategy across the coming years."

Khan will start in the role in December.
