The Co-Directors of community organisation Fun Palaces, KIRSTY LOTHIAN and MAKALA CHEUG, are stepping down from their joint role to pursue new challenges.

Their decision to leave comes as the organisation undergoes a restructure to lead it into its second decade.

Lothian has been with Fun Palaces since the start. She said: "I have been here for 10 years, and it's time to move on. Although our Fun Palaces aren’t being torn down, we are rethinking how we operate in a world very different from the one we were founded in 10 years ago.”

Cheung, who has been Co-Director since 2021, said: “The shift in focus is about recognising the community of everyone involved and their strength together... Collectively, they will seek to shift power so communities can create, shape and share culture, with joy, and with everyone."

Producer, AMIE TAYLOR, will take up the role of Interim Director until June 2024, while a new Director is recruited.
