Trustee reappointed to National Museums NI

WILLIAM MCMULLAN has been reappointed as a trustee to the board of National Museums NI, the body that looks after four separate museums in Northern Ireland.

He will serve for four years from 1 July 2025 to 30 June, 2029. He was initially appointed as a trustee in 2021.

McMullan has been the director of strategic services at Construction Industry Training Board NI (CITB NI) since 2004.

At CITB NI he has responsibility for careers, marketing, research and development, IT, standards and qualifications, and heritage training.

He also engages with the NI construction industry and stakeholders to understand the training needs of the sector.  

McMullan’s background is in mechanical engineering, with postgraduate qualifications in personnel and training. 

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and associate of the Chartered Management Institute.  

The museums overseen by National Museums NI are: Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk Museum, Ulster Transport Museum, and Ulster American Folk Park.

They collectively care for 1.4 million objects in the national collection.
