Trafalgar Entertainment appoints finance boss at ‘dynamic point’ in company journey
A live entertainment company looking to “grow and innovate” further has appointed a former investment fund employee as chief financial officer.
MELANIE DHAWAN joins Trafalgar Entertainment today (17 November), arriving from S4 Capital.
She succeeds HELEN ENRIGHT, the business’s founding chief financial officer.
Founded by Sir HOWARD PANTER and Dame ROSEMARY SQUIRE in 2017, Trafalgar Entertainment operates theatres across the UK, including Bradford Live and New Theatre in Cardiff.
In 2027, it is set to open its 1,575-seat venue, the Olympia Theatre in London, in what will be the city’s largest permanent theatre since the National Theatre opened in 1976.
The company also works on “events cinema”, live music and comedy, and ticketing, with Dhawan joining to oversee its various finance teams.
Most recently, at S4 Capital, she acted as chief financial officer of the company’s content division, driving “enhanced commercial and operational performance” across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Dhawan said: “I’m delighted to be joining Trafalgar Entertainment at such a dynamic point in its journey, and I look forward to joining and working with the Trafalgar team, as the group continues to grow and innovate across the live entertainment industry.”
Squire, joint chief executive of Trafalgar Entertainment, said: “Melanie joins Trafalgar at a pivotal time in the company’s history.
“Her global experience and knowledge will play a vital part in our future growth plans. With new venues on board in 2025, the Olympia Theatre set to open in 2027, and further acquisitions on the horizon, Melanie joins Trafalgar during a highly exciting and ambitious phase. We look forward to working with her and wish her every success in the new role.”
