New director joins Royal Signals Museum
FRITHA COSTAIN has been appointed director of the Royal Signals Museum in Dorset.
Costain joins the museum, which charts the history of military communications, having previously worked in senior roles at the National Trust, the National Trust for Scotland and the American Museum & Gardens in Bath.
Her consultancy work includes developing a masterplan for the Imperial War Museum and the Council of Europe on post-conflict work to regenerate Balkan countries.
Costain said it was “an incredibly exciting time” to be joining the museum with the introduction of a new storytelling strategy, which she said “captures the Corps’ contemporary history as it unfolds”.
“The museum holds an extraordinary collection that speaks to innovation, service and teamwork. I look forward to working with the team to build on its strengths and broaden its reach, both with the local community and wider afield,” she added.
