Poole Arts Trust, which runs South West centre for live performance, film and visual arts, Lighthouse, has appointed DOLLY HAZLITT-POWELL and RACHEL NEWMAN to its board.

Formerly HR manager and later general manager at Lighthouse, Newman is director of people and culture at Bryanston and has previously worked at Debenhams and IKEA.

Since 2014, she has held a succession of senior leadership roles at the RNLI, most recently as head of people, and is also a practising executive coach.

Hazlitt-Powell has worked in the creative and hospitality sectors for more than 35 years, starting out as a theatrical agent, later running a hotel business in France, and going on to hold operational roles in news, strategy and live music and events at the BBC.

She is currently the director of operations for Murmur, an environmental charity that utilises music and visual arts, and previously worked at TV and Film sustainability organisation, BAFTA albert, as head of operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome two hugely experienced people to join the board of Lighthouse,” said ELSPETH MCBAIN, Lighthouse chief executive.

“They each bring significant expertise and commitment to the arts that will play a pivotal role in guiding Lighthouse through its next chapter of growth and creative ambition as we continue to expand our programme, support artists, and serve our community.”
