The National Theatre is to say goodbye to producer KASH BENNETT, a year on from her appointment as president of the Society of London Theatre.

Bennett will step down from her role as executive producer at National Theatre Productions (NTP), the organisation’s commercial arm, in September.

She has held the position for nearly nine years, overseeing the National Theatre’s touring and international productions, as well as those taking place outside its London headquarters.

It comes amid a reported restructuring within the NTP’s 24-strong team, which is expected to include redundancies.

The National Theatre have said that Bennett’s departure is not connected to the overhaul.

The organisation is actively advertising for Bennett’s replacement and has called for applicants with the ability to strategise international tours and “experience of working in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco”.

Bennett told Arts Professional, “I’m enormously proud of everything NT has achieved in the last 10 years including 24 West End transfers, 10 UK tours, 4 international tours and 3 Broadway transfers – in fact it has been the most prolific period for tours and transfers in the history of the National Theatre.

“I have had the most incredible time here but now I’m ready for a new challenge and can’t wait to see what comes next.”

The National Theatre commented: “The National Theatre’s aim is to serve audiences around the globe by sharing our work live and digitally, offering the widest access to high quality theatre in the world. We have recently taken the decision to refine our operating structure and business model for transferring work beyond the South Bank.”

They added: “Regrettably, this structural change has led to some roles being made redundant, following a period of consultation with the staff affected. We’re incredibly mindful of the impact on our staff and our focus is on supporting them through the process and the changes as the new structure is embedded.”
