Douglas-Scott to chair Birds of Paradise
Disability arts organisation Birds of Paradise Theatre Company has appointed SUSAN DOUGLAS-SCOTT as its new chair.
Douglas-Scott has experience in governance, advocacy, and inclusive leadership across the disability, health, and charity sectors.
She also chairs both the NHS Golden Jubilee Board and National Care Service Interim Advisory Board, is as a trustee of Indepen-dance and sings with the European Queer Choir.
Douglas-Scott says she is delighted to join the Scottish theatre company, which is entering its third decade this year.
“I have watched this incredible theatre company go from strength to strength over the past thirty years, giving space for disabled people to be involved in theatre,” she said.
“As a disabled person, I feel proud of all that Birds of Paradise has achieved, and I am excited to play a part in its continued development and future.”
