An organisation committed to connecting disabled people with the music and live event industries has announced a raft of appointments, including a new chief executive officer to begin this month.

CATHERINE PYMAR is to lead Attitude is Everything from 10 November, coming from Islington-based mental health charity Hillside Clubhouse.

Pymar is joined by two fellow new recruits to the nationwide charity, which is one of Arts Council England’s Investment Principles Support Organisations — bodies offering support to others within the sector, rather than directly producing or delivering artistic and cultural output themselves.

Attitude is Everything’s representatives said the appointments signalled a “renewed commitment” to the charity’s mission of improving access to the live music and events industry for Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people.

CLAIRE CORDEAUX, chief executive of the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine, is to become co-chair of Attitude is Everything’s board of trustees, while PAUL HAWKINS will serve under Pymar as deputy chief executive.

He has worked for the organisation since 2015, and joined its senior management team in 2020.

Hawkins said he was “delighted” by his new position, adding: “I think Catherine and Claire are fantastic appointments and I am excited to be part of the next phase of Attitude is Everything.”

Pymar commented: “Attitude is Everything does incredible work bringing real, tangible and positive change at a national level.

“I am so excited to be joining the organisation; to continue the fantastic work the team has done over the years and to lead the charity as it enters a new chapter.”
