Be United welcomes maternity cover CEO after funding win
An organisation committed to amplifying black artists within Scotland’s creative community is to welcome its first change in chief executive in a decade, as its co-founder heads off on maternity leave.
MUSE GREENWOOD is to take on the chief executive officer mantle at Be United, covering for EMMA SITHOLE, as the organisation celebrates securing multi-year funding from Creative Scotland.
Greenwood, who has most recently been working for the creative consultancy Inspiration FX, a company she founded, said she felt “honoured” to step into the role as Be United “entered this exciting new chapter of growth”.
A blog post on Be United’s website introducing Greenwood said the organisation stood “on the cusp of expanding our influence, building richer platforms, and deepening our partnerships across Scotland”.
“Under Muse Greenwood’s leadership, Be United will continue to champion the voices of black artists and cultural practitioners, ensuring their talents, stories, and perspectives are not only seen but celebrated,” it continued.
“This next chapter will see Be United embrace innovation, collaboration, and bold thinking, building on a legacy of excellence while pushing the boundaries of what is possible in Scotland’s performing arts, screen, and cultural events sectors.”
