SoundJunction, a new website commissioned by Culture Online and developed by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, is providing information and interactive tools to help young people discover and create music. Drawing on music of various traditions and styles, SoundJunction is also being distributed free of charge to all UK secondary schools as a CD-Rom taster.

Museums and galleries in London are being invited to join China in London 2006, a programme of activities being promoted early next year by the Greater London Authority in collaboration with Time Out magazine, to celebrate Chinese arts and culture.

SoundSpace, the state-of-the-art sound and music gallery at the Halifax-based children?s museum, Eureka!, has beaten visitor attractions in France, Germany and Sweden to take the Grand Prize of the Year in a competition rewarding Europe?s best tourism initiatives for children. The gallery was developed as part of the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward?s initiative to encourage 3?12 year-olds to realise their creative potential through music and performance.

Trailblazing, a conference focusing on the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship in the arts, will be held at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford on 28 November. Targeted at senior managers, the day will include seminars examining the politics and practice of innovation.

During Enterprise Week, from 14 to 18 November, CIDA, the Cultural Industries Development Agency, is opening up its one-to-one development sessions to creative individuals and enterprises across London, free of charge. Services include advice, training, fundraising guidance, networking and information services. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first-served basis.

Barclays has pledged £1m towards the establishment of Rivington Place, the
UK?s first permanent home for culturally diverse visual arts and photography which is due to open in East London in 2007. The project is being led by inIVA and Autograph ABP, whose aim for the new building is to bring visibility to the work of culturally diverse artists whose work is rarely seen in the UK.

The 2005 ADAPT Trust Awards for Excellence in Access have been announced, with the Brindley Arts Centre, Donmar Warehouse, Glasgow Film Theatre, Wallace Collection, National Maritime Museum, Falmouth, and Theatre Royal, Plymouth all receiving awards for demonstrating good practice in access for disabled people.
