A new partnership between Arnolfini and the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol will see the two organisations sharing resources and facilities, and collaborating on programming, education workshops, seminars, events and academic research. Arnolfini, a leading centre for the contemporary arts located on Bristol’s harbourside, presents a programme of learning and participation activities, and the relationship with the University aims to create new opportunities for Arnolfini visitors and the wider community, extend UWE’s engagement within Bristol and provide new routes into learning and employment for students.

Phil Gibby, Area Director, South West, Arts Council England, described the partnership as having “the potential to be nationally significant”. He said: “Engagement between higher education and the cultural sector is increasingly important and we can see the benefits that this is already bringing to Bristol, a city with a reputation for being at the forefront of creative talent.”
