Dr Jo Yee Cheung is the founder and chief executive of Olympias Music Foundation.
Jo read Music at the University of Cambridge and went on to the Royal Northern College of Music to do a Master’s degree in Piano Performance, followed by a PhD in Music Education.
Her journey to founding the Olympias Music Foundation began in 2015. During her
first year at the RNCM, she volunteered in local primary schools and it very quickly became apparent there was no free musical provision. She found that for disadvantaged children, accessing music lessons was impossible.
This was the beginning of her journey to founding the Olympias Music Foundation
and to change the status quo by facilitating, sourcing instruments, arranging timetables and organising concerts.
